Admissions and Application Process

To apply for our academic programmes, you will need to use our online application system, the Admissions Portal. As part of your application, you will be required to upload relevant documents, including academic transcripts and personal statements. Under our Admissions Policy, your application will be assessed against the entry criteria.

An unconditional offer may be made if you meet all entry requirements for the programme. Accepting this offer constitutes a legally binding contract between you and the School, meaning you must adhere to the School's regulations and policies, pay tuition fees as scheduled, and complete registration and enrolment, subject to cancellation rights.

If you do not currently meet all entry requirements, you may receive a conditional offer. This offer will specify the conditions you must fulfil to secure your place, such as:

  • Pending qualifications: Completion of specific academic requirements.
  • English language proficiency: Requirements for international applicants.
  • Non-academic requirements: Such as completing a DBS check for certain programmes.

Once you meet all conditions outlined in your conditional offer and accept the offer, you will establish a legally binding contract with the School.

The contract encompasses important terms and conditions regarding your engagement with studies, programme changes, data protection, liability, and cancellation. A copy of the contract is available on our website for your reference.

It is possible to apply for more than one programme at the School. We understand that prospective students may have diverse interests and career goals, and we encourage you to explore multiple options that align with your aspirations.

When applying for multiple programmes, you will need to submit a separate application for each one. Each application will be evaluated based on its own merits, adhering to our Admissions Policy. It’s important to ensure that you meet the entry requirements for each programme and to tailor your personal statement accordingly, highlighting why you are interested in each specific course.

Our Student Success Team is here to support you throughout this process. Should you have any questions or require guidance on your applications, feel free to reach out. We are committed to helping you find the right fit for your educational journey and to facilitating your path to success at the School.

We recommend that all prospective students apply as soon as possible to secure their place in their desired programme. Each programme's prospectus and promotional materials outline specific start dates that align with our effective registration periods. By applying early, you ensure that you have ample time to meet any conditions of your offer and obtain your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) if required.

Once you have submitted your application, you will be kept informed throughout the process. You can typically check the status of your application online through the Admissions Portal. Additionally, we will send you status update emails to keep you informed of any progress.

Once a decision has been made regarding your application, you will receive a formal notification via email. This will outline whether your application has been successful or if further information is required.

We understand that waiting for an application decision can be an anxious time, and our Student Success Team is available to answer any questions you may have during this process.

Our Admissions Policy states that interviews may be required for certain applicants as part of the selection process. The necessity for an interview typically depends on individual circumstances, such as the applicant’s qualifications, experience, and the specific programme they are applying for.

Interviews serve as an opportunity for both the School and prospective students to engage in meaningful dialogue, allowing us to better understand your motivations, aspirations, and how you align with our values. Should an interview be required, our Student Success Team will inform you during the application review process and provide guidance on what to expect.

Under our Admissions Policy, the School endeavours to provide constructive feedback to unsuccessful applicants, although this is subject to operational constraints. If you receive an unsuccessful outcome, we encourage you to reach out to our Student Success Team for insights on your application. This feedback can help you understand the reasons behind the decision and improve future applications.

Should you still have concerns after reviewing the feedback, you are entitled to submit a formal appeal in writing to the Director of Student Services. This appeal must be based on the original application to ensure fairness, as introducing new information could provide an unfair advantage. The Director of Student Services will carefully review your appeal and provide a formal response within 15 working days. It is important to note that the Director's decision is final.

This process reflects our commitment to transparency and fairness, allowing applicants to address any concerns about admission decisions.

Once we receive your completed application, including references and supporting documents, we aim to complete the decision-making process within 8-weeks. However, this timeframe may vary during peak periods or if an interview is part of the selection process.

If you have applied for a specific funded opportunity, please note that decisions may take longer than usual. We encourage you to reach out to our Student Success Team if you have not received an update after 8-weeks or if you have any other questions regarding your application. Your journey to joining our School is important to us, and we appreciate your patience as we review your application.

While a CV is not a mandatory requirement for your application, submitting one can provide a valuable overview of your educational background and work experience. Including a CV can help us better understand your qualifications and experiences, which may enhance your application. We focus on your academic achievements and personal statement as the primary components of your application. If you choose to include a CV, please ensure that it is relevant and highlights your skills and experiences that align with your chosen programme.

While we understand that circumstances can sometimes prevent timely submissions, extensions for application deadlines are not guaranteed. Requests for extensions will be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on the specific situation and the reasons provided.

To initiate this process, please contact our Student Success Team as soon as possible with a detailed explanation of your circumstances. We encourage prospective students to stay informed about application deadlines and to submit their applications promptly to ensure the best chance of a successful enrolment.

If you find yourself needing to change your application after submission, you can easily request a modification by emailing our Student Success Team. In your message, please include essential details such as the programme you initially applied for and the new course you wish to consider.

We strive to accommodate all change requests, although approval may depend on the status of your application and the admission criteria at the time we receive your request. The team will assess your situation and guide you through the process.

Please be aware that any refunds related to your application will adhere to our Refunds and Compensation Policy. If you have any further questions or require assistance, do not hesitate to contact us.

You can still submit your application even if you have not yet received all of your documents, such as your final transcript or Certificate of English Proficiency. In such cases, you will receive a conditional offer outlining the specific qualifications and grades you need to achieve in order to meet our entry requirements.

Once you have obtained the necessary evidence, you can easily upload it through the Admission Portal. Upon satisfying all the conditions stated in your conditional offer, you will then receive an unconditional offer, allowing you to proceed with your studies at our School.

International applicants need to be mindful of specific conditions related to visa sponsorship. As our Visa Sponsorship and Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) Policy explains, a CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) will only be issued once certain requirements are met, such as fulfilling the terms of your offer, providing a deposit or proof of funding, and submitting the necessary documents. For full details, it's essential to review the additional regulatory context outlined by the UK Home Office - Study in the UK on a Student Visa. This sets out the requirements for international students coming to the UK under the Student Visa route.

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements for all our academic programmes are detailed on the programme-specific pages of our website. Each programme page provides clear information about the qualifications, experience, and any additional criteria needed to apply. This includes academic qualifications, language proficiency (for international students), and, where applicable, non-academic requirements such as professional experience or background checks.

We encourage all prospective students to review these requirements carefully before submitting an application. If you have any questions or need clarification, please contact our Student Success Team at studentsuccess@lsi-ac.uk, who are available to assist you throughout the application process.

If your previous education was not conducted in English, you will need to take an English language assessment as part of your application. This ensures that you have the necessary language skills to succeed in your studies.

The most commonly accepted assessments are IELTS and TOEFL, and specific score requirements can vary by programme. If you have any concerns about the assessment or your language skills, our Student Success Team is here to help and support you throughout the process.

The required scores for IELTS (International English Language Testing System) at the School are established in line with our Admissions Policy and are designed to ensure that all students possess the necessary English language proficiency to succeed in their academic programmes.

The required scores are based on a variety of factors, including the level and complexity of the course you are applying for, as well as the specific demands of each programme. For example, postgraduate programmes may require a higher score than undergraduate courses, reflecting the advanced level of study and the need for a strong command of academic English.

We also consider the overall band score as well as the individual component scores (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking) to ensure that students have a balanced proficiency across all aspects of the language. This holistic approach helps us assess your readiness for engaging with course content, participating in discussions, and completing assignments.

The School is committed to maintaining high academic standards, and setting these requirements helps us ensure that you will be able to fully engage with your studies from the outset. Prospective students are encouraged to check the specific IELTS score requirements for their chosen programme and to prepare accordingly to meet these expectations.

For specific details regarding language requirements for your student visa application, we recommend checking the UK government's official guidance on student visas. This provides comprehensive information on the necessary qualifications and assessments, including the circumstances under which exemptions may apply.

Work experience is considered when evaluating applications to higher education institutions (HEIs). Relevant work experience can demonstrate your skills, commitment, and practical understanding of your chosen field. Many institutions appreciate applicants who have gained real-world experience, as it can enhance your overall application and provide valuable insights that may enrich your studies. It's beneficial to highlight any work experience in your personal statement, particularly if it relates to the course you are applying for.

We recognise the value of your previous learning and experience. Under our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Experience (RPE) Regulations, applicants have the opportunity to seek accreditation for their prior learning or relevant experience. This can be beneficial for various purposes, including meeting programme entry requirements, obtaining module exemptions, or earning credits towards their chosen course of study.

Unfortunately, we do not offer pre-sessional English courses. However, we believe in fostering a supportive environment for students. For those who wish to improve their English language skills, we encourage you to explore local language schools or online resources that can help you enhance your proficiency. Our main goal is to ensure that every student feels prepared and confident in their studies, and while we may not provide these specific courses, our dedicated staff is always here to assist you in finding the right resources to support your language development. Please contact us with any questions.

Preparing to live in London as an international student involves several essential steps to ensure a smooth transition.

Start by researching your accommodation options. While the School does not offer on-campus housing, we can connect you with local agents to help find suitable accommodation that meets your needs. Consider location and transport links in your decision.

Familiarising yourself with local culture will ease your transition. Engaging with London's rich history and traditions can enhance your experience. Joining local social media groups for international students may provide valuable insights.

Financial planning is crucial. Open a UK bank account upon arrival and create a realistic budget, accounting for transportation, food, and leisure activities.

Ensure your documentation is in order, including your visa and medical records. Familiarise yourself with the UK healthcare system.

Once in London, take advantage of orientation sessions and participate in extracurricular activities to build a support network. Maintaining a positive mindset and being open to new experiences will enrich your time in London.

Most international students will need a visa to study in the UK. The specific visa required is typically a Student visa, which allows you to pursue your course of study at a recognised educational institution. To qualify for a Student visa, you must have received a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), confirming that you have been accepted onto a programme. It is important to ensure that you apply for your visa well in advance of your intended start date, as processing times can vary. Please see the UK government’s guidelines.

To apply for a student visa to study in the UK, you will need to provide several essential documents.

Firstly, you must have a valid passport or other acceptable travel documentation. You will also need a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), which confirms that you have been offered a place on a programme. If applicable, you may also need to submit evidence of your English language proficiency, such as an IELTS certificate.

For the most accurate and comprehensive guidance regarding the documentation required for your student visa application, please refer to the UK government website.

If your visa application is rejected, it can be a challenging situation, but it is important to understand the next steps you can take. Firstly, you will receive a notification detailing the reasons for the rejection. This information is crucial as it will help you understand what went wrong and how you can address these issues.

You may have the right to appeal the decision or apply for a re-evaluation of your application. The process for this can vary based on the reasons for rejection, so it is advisable to seek guidance from a qualified immigration advisor.

In the meantime, if your visa is not approved, you will not be able to enrol in your chosen programme. We encourage you to stay in touch with the School for support and guidance throughout this process. Our Student Support Team is here to assist you in understanding the options.

For comprehensive details on the conditions and requirements for dependant visas, please see the UK government’s website

International students in the UK are subject to specific work restrictions. It is crucial to consult the official UK government website for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding work rights and restrictions for international students.

For information regarding the eligibility criteria and the latest updates, please consult the UK government's guidance on the Graduate Visa. This will help you understand the latest requirements for working in the UK after graduation.

The time it takes to receive your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) can vary depending on several factors, including the completeness of your application and the timing of your submission. Generally, once you have met all the conditions of your offer and submitted the necessary documentation, you can expect to receive your CAS within a few working days.

It is important to ensure that all required documents are provided in a timely manner, as any missing information may delay the process. For specific details regarding the issuance of your CAS, please refer to our Visa Sponsorship and Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) Policy.

If you are an international student, it is essential to consult your doctor in your home country regarding the vaccinations you need before entering the UK. Vaccination requirements can vary based on your country of origin and it is wise to be well-informed before your arrival.

In addition to speaking with your doctor, please check with your local embassy for any specific vaccination requirements that may apply to you. This will help ensure that you are fully compliant with UK regulations.

Tuition Fees and Finance

You can find comprehensive information about tuition fees and any additional charges on the programme-specific pages of our website. Each programme page provides details about the cost of tuition and any other fees that may apply, such as materials, visits, or other course-related costs.

If you need further clarification or support with payment options, our Student Success Team is available at studentsuccess@lsi-ac.uk to assist you with any questions you may have.

The deadline for paying tuition fees is tied to your acceptance of an offer to study at the School. By formally accepting your offer, both undergraduate and postgraduate applicants are required to pay all tuition fees and any additional charges before the registration date. This also applies to returning students, who must settle previous fees before re-registering.

International students should also refer to our Visa Sponsorship and Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) Policy for details on deposit payments.

All students attending the School, whether in person or online, are deemed to have accepted the full Terms and Conditions, meaning they have to pay as stipulated. Payments must adhere to the fee schedule in the Tuition Fees, Additional Charges, and Deposits Policy and Schedule, regardless of whether an invoice has been issued or sponsorship, grants, or loans are involved.

For Home Students, payment options include full payment before registration or an instalment plan, where 50% is paid upfront and the remaining 50% is due six months later.

International Students must pay a 50% deposit of tuition fees and additional charges before the CAS is issued, with the remaining balance due prior to registration. Payments are complete only when cleared in the School’s bank account. A £15 administration fee will apply to any payments that do not clear.

These policies ensure that all financial obligations are met before registration, facilitating smooth administrative processes while keeping students informed of their financial responsibilities.

Under our Tuition Fees, Additional Charges, and Deposits Policy and Schedule, we offer flexible payment options for tuition fees, additional charges, and deposits. Students can make payments using either a credit or debit card through the School’s online payment platform, or via bank transfer to the School's bank account, as detailed on the invoice.

These payment methods provide convenient options for students to fulfil their financial obligations while ensuring efficient processing and record-keeping. By offering various ways to pay, we aim to support students in managing their finances effectively and smoothly as they embark on their academic journey.

Establishing a student bank account is important, as it often comes with benefits tailored for students.

We encourage you to set up a bank account before applying for student financing to ensure a smooth transition when your funds arrive. This will help you manage your tuition fees, living expenses, and other financial commitments effectively.

Short Courses

When considering short courses, it's essential to understand the type of short course and entry criteria, as outlined in our Short Courses (Non-Credit and Credit-Bearing) Regulations. These criteria are designed to ensure that all participants can make the most of the short course that they wish to undertake.

For Executive Education short courses, we generally seek individuals in senior leadership or management roles who possess significant experience or relevant qualifications. These courses are tailored for those looking to enhance their strategic skills and leadership capabilities.

The Professional (CPD) short courses are aimed at individuals currently working in specific sectors. These courses are designed to provide Continuing Professional Development opportunities that align with industry standards and practices.

Our Open Interest/Essential Skills courses have no entry requirements, making them generally accessible to anyone with a keen interest in the subject matter. These courses cater to a much wider audience, allowing individuals to explore new topics and expand their knowledge without prior qualifications.

We specify the type of course and entry criteria when publicising the course, ensuring that participants are well-equipped to engage with the course content, ultimately enriching the learning experience If you have any questions about which course might be suitable for you, our Student Success Team at studentsuccess@lsi-ac.uk is happy to assist you in finding the right fit.

The delivery schedule for our short courses varies depending on the specific course and its format. To find detailed information about course dates, duration, and delivery methods, please visit our Short Courses page on our website. You will find a comprehensive overview of upcoming courses, including start dates and any relevant deadlines for registration.

Our short courses are designed to be flexible and accessible, ensuring that you can find a course that fits your schedule and educational needs.

If you have further questions or need assistance in choosing the right course for you, our Student Success Team is available to provide guidance and support.

Yes, you can gain academic credits from a short course, but this is subject to our Short Courses (Non-Credit and Credit-Bearing) Regulations. These regulations focus on quality assurance and academic standards to ensure that all courses meet the required criteria for credit-bearing status.

Please refer to the specific details outlined in these regulations to understand how credits are awarded and the implications for your academic journey. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to our Student Success Team for guidance.

The weekly time commitment for short courses varies depending on the specific course and its format. Detailed information about the expected duration and weekly study hours can be found in the 'Duration' section of each course on the Short Courses page on our website.

To apply for one of our short courses, please start by reviewing the key information available on our website. Each short course specification includes essential details such as the course name, description, content, entry requirements, duration, mode of delivery, academic level, credit status, and associated fees.

When you submit a form to book a place on a short course, this constitutes an offer to us to undertake that course; however, it does not form a binding contract. A contract will be established only when we send you a confirmation that you have secured a place on that short course.

We will confirm your place once you have completed the full booking form, met all applicable entry criteria, and we have accepted your application. At that point, you will need to pay the required fees and charges as outlined on our website. All payments are made in pound sterling (£) and are subject to our cancellation and refund terms.

Our short courses are thoughtfully designed to integrate seamlessly into your existing schedule, ensuring that you can balance your studies with other commitments. Throughout the course, you will engage in a variety of activities that enhance your learning experience and provide a well-rounded education.

These activities may include AI content, videos, case studies, and quizzes. This diverse approach not only helps reinforce the course content, but also fosters a dynamic learning environment where you can connect with your peers and instructors.

For more specific details about the activities included in your course, please contact our Student Success Team.

Interaction with fellow students varies based on the type of short course you choose.

Flexible Online courses are conducted entirely online without live components, which may limit opportunities for interaction. In contrast, In-Person courses include live elements, whether delivered on-site or remotely, allowing for more direct interaction with your peers. Blended courses combine online content with in-person sessions, facilitating both digital and face-to-face engagement. This mixed approach provides opportunities to collaborate and connect with other students, enhancing your learning experience.

By selecting the course format that best fits your preferences, you can optimise your interaction with fellow learners.

Under the Short Courses (Non-Credit and Credit-Bearing) Regulations, all participants who successfully complete a short course will receive a certificate of participation. This certificate serves as recognition of your engagement and achievement in the course.

For those enrolled in credit-bearing short courses, additional documentation is provided. Participants will receive transcripts, alongside their certificates, issued in accordance with our Academic Regulations. This ensures that students have formal documentation of their academic achievements.

Our commitment to educational standards and transparency means that certificates and transcripts are valuable tools for showcasing your accomplishments and enhancing your professional profile.

The certificate awarded will be a digital certificate. This certificate can be easily shared and showcased, enhancing your professional profile.

Certificates are issued within 2-weeks after the course completion date, allowing you to promptly update your credentials.

Unfortunately, we do not provide physical certificates for short courses. Instead, participants will receive a verified digital certificate upon successful completion of the course. This digital format allows for easy sharing on professional platforms.

Our decision to issue only digital certificates aligns with our commitment to sustainability and efficiency, ensuring that you can quickly and conveniently showcase your achievements without the need for physical copies.

Under the School Contract Terms and Conditions: Short Courses, you will have access to course content for 20-working days after your short course formally ends. Following this period, access to the materials will cease.

This policy ensures that you have sufficient time to review and consolidate your learning while also promoting a structured approach to your studies. We encourage you to take advantage of this access to enhance your understanding and maximise the benefits of your short course experience.

Choosing between multiple job offers can be a challenging yet exciting decision. To make the best choice for your career and personal circumstances, it is essential to evaluate each offer carefully and consider various factors.

Begin by examining the specifics of each offer, including salary, benefits, and working conditions. Consider the company culture and values, ensuring they align with your own. A supportive and inclusive work environment is crucial for long-term job satisfaction and professional growth.

Think about the opportunities for career advancement each position offers. Does one role provide more pathways for development or the chance to work on projects that excite you? Reflect on the skills you will gain and how they align with your long-term career goals.

When you receive a job offer, take the time to evaluate it thoroughly. Consider not only the salary but also other aspects such as benefits, bonuses, and opportunities for professional development. Articulating your value to the organisation, backed by your skills and qualifications, can bolster your negotiating position.

During discussions, communicate openly and confidently. Be ready to explain why you believe a higher salary is justified, focusing on your unique strengths and what you can bring to the role. It is also helpful to express your enthusiasm for the position and the organisation, reinforcing that your aim is to find a mutually beneficial agreement.
